The Kettering School Sport Partnership is the local deliverer of the government Olympic legacy through the Youth Sport Trust, and is commited to help facilitate competitive sport and high quality school PE for every young person aged 5-16 and to enable all young people aged 5-19, access to sporting opportunities.

 

The partnership is based at Southfield School, Kettering.

 

Kettering School Sports Partnership works with 45 local schools/colleges, including secondary, primary, infant , special schools, and Tresham College, to make PE and Sport more accessible, attractive, affordable and appropriate to the needs of our young people. For 5-16 year olds the expectation is that schools provide two of hours high quality PE per week and are encouraged to provide at least one hour a week beyond the curriculum on school site.

The Kettering School Sports Partnership delivers the Kettering Leadership Academy for young people with leadership potential, multi skill academy for young people with sporting potential and manage a coaching programme delivering the funs for everyone programme into primarys. The Partnership also the local developer of the change 4 life school sports clubs in Volleyball, Badminton and Table Tennis in our secondary schools.

 

For 16-19 years the partnership links 6th forms and colleges to community groups and clubs to develop a weekly offer to all students to participate in sport. As part of this school/college offer, young people should have access to regular competitive opportunities, coaching to develop their skills and enjoyment, a choice of different sports, pathways to club and elite sport, and opportunities to lead and volunteer in sport.
