Welcome to Kettering School Sports Partnership
The Kettering School Sport Partnership is the local deliverer of the Youth Sport Trust's commitment to enable every young person aged 5-16year to have access to five hours of PE and sport per week, and three hours for young people aged 16yrs-19yrs), and is based at Southfield Sports College for Girls.
The partnership works with 45 local schools/colleges , including secondary, primary, infant , special schools, and Tresham College, to make PE and Sport more accessible, attractive, affordable and appropriate to the needs of our young people. For 5-16 year olds the expectation is that schools provide three of the five hours through high quality PE and at least one hour a week beyond the curriculum on a school site.
For 16-19years the partnership links 6th forms and colleges to community groups and clubs to develop a weekly three hour offer to all students to participate in sport.
As part of this school/college offer, young people should have access to regular competitive opportuntities, coaching to develop their skills and enjoyment, a choice of different sports, pathways to club and elite sport, and opportunties to lead and volunteer in sport.
The Kettering School Sport Partnership delivers the:
Kettering Leadership Academy for Young People with Leadership Potential
Kettering Multi Skill Academy for Young People with Sporting Potential
School Sport Coaching Programme delivering a range of sports coaching in schools eg Cheerleading, Futsal, Basketball, Judo, Rugby and Badminton.
The partnership also is local developer of the Change 4 Life School Sports Clubs in Volleyball, Badminton and Table Tennis in our secondary schools, and supports an extensive programme of teacher training.
